Arnold Soder Tapes
On 30 May 1968, the 19 years old Arnold Soder travelled with a couple of friends by chartered coach from Möhlin to the Monsterkonzert and recorded the event with his brand-new Philips cassette recorder.

To this day those two Philips C90 Compact Cassettes remain the only known audio document from the first evening, containing excerpts of the performances of all bands and almost the entire Jimi Hendrix set.

The audio quality is not to bad.

The original cassettes were given to me by Arnold as a present on 12 August 2000.

Peter Naef Tape
This tape was recorded by Peter Naef on a battery-powered reel-to-reel tape recorder in 2-track mono, meaning, both sides of the tape were used.

The tape is not exactly in prime condition and audio quality is pretty poor.

I presume Peter hid the tape recorder under his jacket, inadvertently touching the reels now and again, which caused the tape to wobble.

Peter gave me the original tape as a present in 1988.
